Experience

Leading the Managed Services engineering team, responsible for providing critical shared infrastructure services used across multiple Avature engineering teams. The challenge here was taking over an already established team with high seniority.

• Transition to leading an existing team, adapting my management style to an already established dynamic
• Focus on reducing team burnout, caused by a reactive work dynamic with excessive unplanned urgent tasks

Founded and led the Coverage team, born from my previous initiative on monitoring and alerting during my time as a Cloud Engineer. Being a completely new team, it was the space where I took my first steps as a leader, experimenting with team organization and management with the confidence of building it from scratch.

• Created the Coverage team from scratch, defining its mission, structure, and ways of working
• Drove the propagation of observability ownership to development teams, which until then delegated all alert management to Cloud Operations

Hands-on operational role focused on cloud infrastructure and mostly reactive work. The turning point was taking the initiative to improve the monitoring and alerting system on my own, which ultimately opened the door to my transition into engineering leadership.

• Led the improvement of the monitoring and alerting system within the team, reducing noise for the on-call group
• Focused on making alerts actionable, reducing the cognitive effort needed to distinguish real incidents from false positives
